We just finished installing an ‘05 STi 6-speed transmission in the L. This gives us better gearing for auto-x and opens a few new opportunities for performance. The transmission has a driver-controlled center differential that gives us some flexibility with the power distribution. Also, since the 6-speed is much stronger, we have programmed the launch control and flat-shift functions on the Utec Delta we got from TurboXS. You can see/hear the launch control and flat-shift in action in these videos from this weekend. I will also have an update for the 20-50 accel. tests soon.
The L’s first trip to the drag strip yielded a 13.38@102MPH running about 16psi. Not bad, we are hoping it will get a good bit faster once it is tuned.
We performed a few tests today to compare the acceleration of the 2000 RS2.5 and the new 1994 LRXTi. Videos included after the break. (Updated with 0-60 footage from LRXTi) Read the rest of this entry »
It’s been a few years, but the L project car finally got to see daylight today. It looks like the car should be ready for the 2007 auto-x season. We will still have a lot of testing to perform throughout the year, but the car has finally made it back to “rolling chassis” status. Read more after the break. Read the rest of this entry »
